Mimi Khalvati
Mimi Khalvati (1944) woont in Hackney (Groot-Brittannië) en is dichteres en kinderboekenschrijfster. Ze werd geboren in Teheran en groeide op op het eiland Wight. Ze studeerde in Zwitserland en in Londen en was een tijdlang in Iran actief als actrice en theaterdirecteur. Op vijfentwintigjarige leeftijd keerde ze terug naar Groot-Brittannië en werd er coördinator van de Poetry School. Nu is ze gastdocente aan het Goldsmiths’ College in Londen, waar ze ook poëzieworkshops geeft. Haar dichtbundel Mirrorwork werd in 1995 bekroond met een Arts Council Writers’ Award. Recente bundels en bloemlezingen van haar hand zijn Entries on Light (1997), Selected Poems (2000), Tying the Song: A First Anthology from the Poetry School 1997-2000 (2000), The Chine (2002), en Entering the Tapestry: a Second Anthology from the Poetry School (2003).
